We are keeping the momentum going! Following our recent update on Mate Authorizations, we are thrilled to announce that Tool Authorizations are now live on allmates.ai! π
Your Toolbox is the heart of your Mates' "superpowers." Whether it's connecting to GitHub, Google Maps, or your own internal databases, security and control are paramount. With this update, we are giving you a sophisticated governance layer to protect your API keys and manage exactly who can use your integrations. π
You will find a brand-new Authorizations tab inside every tool in your Toolbox. This allows you to define precise access levels for your team members:
π Owner: The ultimate manager. Owners have full access to credentials (API keys), can modify the tool's schema, and are the only ones who can delete the tool.
βοΈ Admin: Operational power. Admins can manage all settings and assign roles to others, but cannot delete the tool.
π€ User: The "Connector" role. Users can attach the tool to their Mates. Note: To successfully use a tool, a member needs "User" access to both the Tool and the Mate! π
π List: Visibility without usage. Members can see that the tool exists in the organization's library but cannot attach it to any Mates.
π« No Access: Total privacy. The tool becomes invisible to everyone except those specifically authorized.
π Bulletproof Configuration: Ensure your API setups stay exactly as intended. These authorizations ensure that only Owners and Admins can manage or modify the toolβs settings, preventing any unauthorized changes. π₯
π― Controlled Collaboration: Empower your team by letting them use powerful tools without needing to share the underlying technical credentials. β‘
π Scalable Governance: As your organization grows, you can easily delegate tool management to "Admins" while keeping "Owner" rights centralized. β¨
π Stay in the Loop: Our intelligent notification system instantly alerts team members whenever they are granted a new role on a tool! π₯
