We are thrilled to unveil one of our most significant governance updates yet: Mastering Mate Authorizations. As your teams grow and your AI collaborators become more specialized, we know how important it is to manage who can see, use, and modify your Mates.
Starting today, you have total control over the lifecycle and accessibility of every Mate in your organization. No more "one size fits all" accessโnow, you decide exactly who holds the keys to your AI-powered workflows.
Weโve introduced a dedicated Authorizations tab within every Mate's settings. This allows you to assign specific roles to individual members or set organization-wide defaults:
๐ Owner: The ultimate authority. Owners can manage all settings, assign roles, and are the only ones with the power to delete the Mate.
โ๏ธ Admin: Perfect for team leads. Admins can edit, update instructions, and assign roles to others, but cannot delete the Mate.
๐ค User: The standard collaboration role. Users can chat and interact with the Mate freely but cannot change its configuration.
๐ List: Visibility without interaction. Members can see the Mate in the organization list (to know it exists) but cannot start a conversation with it.
๐ซ No Access: Complete privacy. The Mate becomes invisible to everyone except those specifically authorized.
Enhanced Security & Privacy: Protect sensitive Mates (like HR or Finance specialists) by making them invisible or restricted to specific stakeholders.
Prevent Configuration Drift: Ensure that your carefully crafted prompts and tool configurations aren't accidentally modified by unauthorized users.
Scalable Team Management: Easily onboard new members by giving them "User" access while keeping "Admin" rights for your internal "Mate Builders."
Audit-Ready Governance: Clearly see who granted access to whom, ensuring full transparency within your organization.
Navigate to Mates & Tools in your sidebar.
Select the Mate you wish to manage.
Click on the brand-new Authorizations tab.
Use the Add Member button to assign specific roles, or adjust the All organization members default setting.
Click Update to save your changes.

We can't wait to see how this helps you build more secure and organized AI teams! Happy collaborating!
